| Le Cochon replied on 06/11/2009 at 00:04 e-mail Le Cochon | Jemas, having re-read my previous post I can see how it could be interpreted that way. I did not intend to sound smug, or appear to gloat; I am just passing on information I have heard, which may or may not be true, albeit from a slightly biased perspective (for which I make no apology), for the benefit of any interested parties.
However, that said, most of the people who have ever- -dared to voice an opinion against, -stood in the way of, -been a hindrance to, -worked for, -asked to be paid for work done, -disagreed with the plans of the former occupants of the Domaine de Bagatelle and their "je suis un vrai périgordin" bully, will completely understand why the thought of them enjoying life in "reduced circumstances" might evoke the merest tingle of "schadenfreude".

I thought at the time that it was a great idea to have a circuit, but I can understand neighbours feelings., and it was pure fantasy now with the previous owners.
The wife definitlely owns Aston Investments, and I gather, under French law, if one sells a home, the mortgage payments can be postponed until the sale goes through. It also gives the seller time to move their furniture etc., which they did.
I also understand that the sale to Aston Investments is pure fiction , furniture etc has been removed, but without the " sale ", the bank would have foreclosed their 1,000,000 plus mortgage and taken their furniture and belongings. It was a clever delaying tactic and someone in the bank is going to cotton on to it very soon .
Whether they live in a caravan or not , I do not know , but the Bagatelle circuit was backed by enormous borrowed finance, which will never happen now .
It was a total coincidence that I met a business aquaintance of their's , within hours of reading this posting by Le Cochon and I thought I should add this comment. I would not be surprised if the "caravan living accomodation " is a ruse , they do need to keep the French mortgage bank at bay

| Le Cochon replied on 06/11/2009 at 23:55 e-mail Le Cochon | The opposition to the Bagatelle project, which unbelievably started way back in 2004, soon divided into two separate but parallel thrusts; firstly the ecological impact it would have had on the surrounding area if it came to fruition, and the attempt to show that it never could come to fruition, given the history, financial practices and modus operandi of the promoters, into which bryanston has given us an insight in the previous post.
The sad thing for me is that there were so many people in positions of power and authority who were completely taken in by the persuasive spiel of the characters behind the scheme, allowing it to drag on for so long. Some should have known better; some saw themselves becoming rather rich as a result, and some were naive enough to just believe it would provide substantial employment for local people, but without questioning the viability of the project. Heaven forbid that any opinions were shaped, or changed, by financial inducement.....
I don't know either whether the caravan story is true, but the old saying "you can run, but you can't hide" surely is.
