e-mail bestfriends | If you do not qualify for an E121 or E106 then you are liable for the CRDS charge on foreign pensions taxable in France, all 3 social charges on investment income wherever it is received and French rental income. If you have investment income within France then it is usually taxed at source unless you have tax free accounts when neither tax nor social charges at due, if you have any surplus income open tax free accounts do not keep money in current accounts these do not earn any interest.
I always write a small note in the section dealing with the CRDS on the 2047 foreign income return if my clients are affiliated to CPAM with an E121 usually this is enough and they are not charged the CRDS on any pensions received but it is advisable that you send a copy of your E121 the first time.

e-mail Jono1 | | It's worth bearing in mind that most of the local tax offices have an english speaking day or two when the tax forms arrive. It's an ideal opportunity for the non french speakers to sort out their problems. I found it most helpful in filling in my returns this year!! |
